Utilities: Water
SAGE completed control system works on key infrastructural assets to allow the waste water storage and treatment plant to function.
Multiple locations, South Australia
The $62.6 million Southern Urban Reuse Project (SURP) is jointly funded by the SA and Federal Governments. It forms one element of the ‘Water Proofing the South’ strategy being led by the City of Onkaparinga.
Each year 1.6 billion litres of treated wastewater will be transferred from the Christies Beach Wastewater Treatment Plant to the Aldinga Wastewater Treatment Plant where it will be stored.
The wastewater will then be further treated before being provided to up to 8000 new homes in the south for use in dual reticulation systems, including toilet flushing and garden watering.
SAGE was engaged by LEED Engineering and Guidera O'Connor to complete works associated with four key areas of the project. These include: the Christies Beach Main Control Cubicle, Aldinga Pumping Station, Aldinga Water Farm Pump Stations and Hypo building, and the SURP Main Control Panels.
The solution included:
Working with multiple Lead Contractors and under challenging timeframes, SAGE allocated large Engineering, CAD and workshop resources to the project and has since been awarded further work with these lead contractors.
