SAGE Engineer recognised for India expansion

A talented engineer uses all of his skills to find a thriving Australian business a second home in India.

SAGE Automation India managing director Rajesh Jagadale is a finalist in the India Australia Business and Community Awards for 2016.

Mr Jagadale, pictured above with SAGE Group managing director Andrew Downs, is one of nine finalists in the Business Leader of the Year category for his hard work helping SAGE Automation expand their business overseas, breaking into the growing economy of India.

After starting with SAGE in Adelaide 12 years ago, Mr Jagadale could see the value in expanding the company into the fast-growing economy of India.

“Rajesh developed and implemented the expansion of SAGE in India, which included all aspects of entering the Indian market to ensure a successful venture,” his nomination stated.

“In addition to this, Rajesh was responsible for the logistics of office location and set up, building a team of more than 20 experts to meet the skillset required by SAGE as well as a Training Centre.”

It was important to Mr Jagadale to build and develop the new office and saw that India would need the advanced technologies that SAGE had already implemented in Australia in a number of its industrial sectors.

India is home to thousands of engineering graduates passing out each year but at the same time it faces a problem of unemployment.

Mr Jagadale saw this as an opportunity for the highly advanced training SAGE delivers in Australia, benefiting the Indian market.

By bringing the SAGE ‘finishing school’ type courses to India, he could serve the demands of world class infrastructure that India was aiming for.

At the same time, Mr Jagadale leveraged the vast pool of qualified engineers in India to develop a support centre to work with the SAGE team in Australia.

This was no easy task, given the strong cultural values which drive SAGE’s service delivery and make it a unique organisation.

Having been born and raised in India Mr Jagadale knew how to synchronise the culture in the Indian office with the culture he had experienced working in the Australian SAGE offices.

Mr Jagadale made a point of identifying the critical success areas and focussing on developing strategies to address and deliver upon then.http://www.gotosage.com/news/pages/sage-engineer-recognised-for-india-expansion

He gained confidence in himself and the confidence of those he worked with and Mr Jagadale has had great results.

The expansion of SAGE to India has created an overall value of more than $3 million for the business and has a clear path for continued growth ahead.

It is a testament to Mr Jagadale’s vision, commitment and relentless effort that has enabled him to create an ecosystem of support for the team in Australia and in turn, made SAGE’s expertise available to professionals in India.

Winners will be announced at the Awards Gala on Friday, October 28 in Sydney.
