Advantage SA has hosted another successful Around Our State tour this week, giving its Foundation and Major Corporate members the opportunity to experience first-hand some of South Australia’s most innovative businesses, initiatives and practices.
Guests were inspired by SAGE Automation’s General Manager Justin Kahl, who shared insight into the group’s growth plans and innovative project case studies.
Projects highlighted for their innovation include the automation of the Port River Bridge, controlled remotely from the Norwood Traffic Control Centre, the gingerbread baby icing robot developed for boutique North Adelaide baker Perryman’s, the submarine floating dock in Western Australia and the Murray-Goulburn Irrigation Modernisation Project in Victoria to name a few.
Participants enjoyed the opportunity to get up close to current projects under construction in the panel workshop and the multi-million dollar Didactic Training facility.
The full-day itinerary also included a briefing on a new protein vaccine developed by Vaxine Development Company, a tour of the world-first Bio SA Incubator at Thebarton which showcased an innovative portable ultrasound machine as well as SCF Group and Redarc.
Advantage SA’s Interstate Media Program, bringing key interstate and international media, joined the tour and included representatives from The Australian, Biotechnology News, Business Review Weekly, AAP and Swiss daily newspaper Neue Zurcher Zeitung, plus local representation from Advantage SA’s Media Partners, The Advertiser and The Independent Weekly.
